Haraam Transactions

2063. Haraam and void transactions are divided into six categories.

First: Selling and purchasing of Ain Najasat (essential Najasat) like alcoholic beverages, pigs, dead body, urine, faeces, besides, if a permissible use of Ain Najasat except alcoholic drinks, pig and dead body is possible like, selling and purchasing it is permissible, however as a precaution, such sale and purchase should be avoided.

Makrooh Transactions

2062. The following are Makrooh transactions,

First: To sell the land.

Second: Butchery.

Third: To make shroud selling one's vocation.

Forth: To enter into transaction with people of low character.

Fifth: To make it one's vocation to buy or sell wheat and barley, or other similar commodities.

Sixth: To interfere in a deal being carried out by others, and make one's own offer.

2059. Five recommended things for Selling and Purchasing.

Firstly. Learning the rules of daily transactions is recommended for a businessperson. In fact, if he knows that amongst the transactions some are valid and some are void and if it is not possible for him to differentiate between them, then it is obligatory upon him to learn the laws regarding it or he should refrain from those transactions.

2032. One should give Fitrah with the Niyyat of Qurbat, that is, to comply with the orders of Almighty Allah, and should intend to be giving Fitrah at the time of disposal.

Disposal of Fitrah

2022. As per obligatory precaution, Fitrah should be paid to Shi’ah poor only, even if they live in some other town other than his home town. Since carrying the Zakat to another city is against precautionary measures, if there is not Shi’ah poor in his hometown, he should take from his own property to another town there give it to deserving poor with the intention of Zakat.

Intention of Zakat

1965. A person should give Zakat with the intention of Qurbat, that is, to comply with the pleasure of Almighty Allah. And he should specify in his Niyyat, whether he is giving the Zakat on his wealth, or Zakatul Fitrah. However, if it is obligatory on him to give Zakat on wheat and barley, it is not necessary on him to specify whether he is paying in lieu of wheat or barley.
