Renewing the Covenant with the Guardian of Affairs (Wali e Amr)

One of the important duties in these nights, is the renovation of covenant with Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his arrival), and the recitation of the supplication “Allahumma Kun le waliyyikal”; because the Lailatul Qadr has special relation with his holiness and in this night, the angels descend upon his majesty; and the affinity with Quran and holy progeny (peace be upon Him) also demands that in the Lailatul Qadr, the believers should hold fast to the two heavy things, the Holy Quran and the last Imam – who is the extender of justice and the last remnant of the progeny of guides – and the actual example of the verse, “Then We made those whom We chose from Our servants heirs to the Book” [i.e. the Hujjat, the son of Imam Hasan Askari (peace be upon Him)]. And we must know that by the verdict of Mutawatir traditions regarding Thaqlayn, safety and deliverance from misguidance can be obtained only under the shadow of Quran and the holy Progeny (peace be upon Them). And for being rescued from the deviations and waywardness, there is no path other than seeking the medium of the guidance of Quran and the holy Progeny.
