Message of Grand Ayatollah on the demise of Ayatollah Shahrudi (r.a.)
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
“Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him do we indeed return.”
With deep sadness and sorrow did we receive the sorrowful news of demise of the divine cleric, Ayatollah Haji Sayyid Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroodi (r.a.),
He was indeed one of the greatest teachers of the religious seminary of Qom, who benefitted from the senior Ayatollahs of the religious seminaries of Najaf and Qom, and reached great levels of knowledge.
Some of the significant services of this great cleric were the training of outstanding students, establishing important jurisprudential centers, publishing books on Wilayat, such as the great compilation of Allama Amini’s “Al-Ghadir”.
I express my heartfelt condolence on the demise of this great spiritual personality, to all the clerics of the religious seminaries, his honorable family, his children and all his colleagues, and request Allah (s.w.t.) to shower His vast blessings and mercy upon the departed soul.
