Alcoholic liquor

 

112. All Alcoholic liquors and beverages which are originally liquid and intoxicate a person are Najis, and if narcotics, like, opium and hemp, which are not liquid originally, are Pak, even when a liquid is added to them.

 

113. All kinds of industrial alcohol used for painting doors, tables, chairs etc., if a person do not know whether it is intoxicant or not, or do not know whether it is initially made from an intoxicant liquid, are Pak.

114. If grapes or grape juice ferments by itself, or on being cooked, they are Pak, but it is Haraam to eat or drink them, and whatever fermented on being cooked and its quantity reduced to two – third while being cooked on fire, will be considered Halaal, and whatever amount fermented by other than fire will become Halaal when it will turn into vinegar.

115. If dates, currants, raisins and their juice ferment, they are Pak and it is Halal to eat them. However, as per recommended precaution, it is better to refrain from it.
