Ramadan – The month of supplication (4)
The Month of Ramadan – Spring of Supplications

The Month of Ramadan – Spring of Supplications

It is quite apparent that the month of Ramadan, is the spring of supplications and its season. The despaired, defeated, troubled, sorrowful and upset, less patient and endurance-less people become hopeful, rejoiced, forbearing and enduring in this month with the grace of supplication and attention towards the vast mercy of Allah; and reengage themselves with an invincible spirit in the battlefield of life and vitality, showing additional activeness and endeavor.

The month of Ramadan gives this message to humanity that they should not feel defeated in the cobweb of difficulties and hardships of life, and they should not feel scared in facing the happenings of this world, and should not be overcome by circumstances.

The recitation of supplications like Abu Hamza Thumali, Iftitah and other supplications makes a person extremely warm and gritty, and fills him with such joy and spirituality that he forgets all the calamities of this world and his existences sinks in optimism and positivity towards the future. And just as it has arrived in the Hadith that such supplications – which are reported in the month of Ramadan and whose examples are excessive in other months and instances as well – are a believer’s weapon and it gives his existence a definite insurance in front of the accidents, and makes his soul undefeatable.

The entire supplication of Abu Hamza is a program of arming oneself with true moral values, and a lesson of contentment, satisfaction, reliance and love of Allah, His Messenger and religious sages. The same weapon and armor with which the Islamic soldiers used to do Jihad against the enemies of Allah and gave them – who were loaded with weapons and armors – humiliating defeat, and dominated Islam over infidelity.

The same weapon and armor with which Ali (peace be upon Him) – the first and unique soldier of Islam – was armed, and in the battles, who never feared the vast numbers of enemies. The one who never showed his back in any battlefield and said:

"واللہ لو تظاھرت العرب علی قتالی لما ولیت عنھا"

“If the entire Arab nation appears against me to fight me, I will never turn away from them”

Respected readers! Dignified fasting men! Make use of the programs of supplication in this month. Consider your time valuable. Don’t let the opportunity go away because “opportunity evades like the evading clouds”. Talk to Allah and express such gratitude towards Him which is the appropriate manner of gratification. Do not turn away from supplication and become disdainful.

Allah (s.w.t.) said:

اِنَّ الَّذِینَ یسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِی سَیدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِینَ

“Indeed those who are disdainful of My worship will enter hell in utter humiliation”.
