In the name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful

Those whom the angels take away while they are pure. They say [to them], ‘Peace be to you! Enter paradise because of what you used to do.’

A few hours ago, the lofty soul of His Holiness, Grand Ayatollah Saafi Golpaygani (may Allah elevate his rank), left his pure body and departed towards the supreme kingdom. His Holiness was a staunch defender of the sanctity of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and an eloquent tongue that defended the divine rights. He was a beloved servant of the great Wali of Allah (may our souls be sacrificed on him) and the leader of the religious seminaries.

The glorious record of this esteemed Marja’ was full of advice and benevolence for the leaders of Islam and Shiism and compassion for all the servants of God.

We offer condolences for this irreparable loss to the holy presence of his master and beloved, Hazrat Baqiyatullah Al-Azam (may Allah hasten his reappearance), and to the holy seminaries and the honorable people of Iran and lovers of Marja’iyyah in all parts of the world.

The schedule of the funeral and burial of this pure body shall be announced later.
