Hayz (Menses)

 

Hayz is a kind of blood which is normally discharged every month from the womb of women for a few days. The woman experiencing Menses is called 'Haa'ez'.

440. Menses is usually thick and warm and its color is either black or red. It is discharged with pressure and a little irritation.

441. Sayyida[1]women, become Ya'isa after the age of 60 years, i.e. they do not become Haa'ez. And women who are not Sayyida, become Ya'isa at the age of 50 years.

Rules of Istihadha

 

400. In the case of little Istihadha, a woman should perform separate Wudhu for every prayer and should change the pad. And if some blood is found on the outer part of her private parts, she should make it Pak with water.

Istihadha

 

One type of blood which is seen by women is called Istihadha and a woman in that state is called Mustahadha.

398. Istihadha is usually yellowish and cold and is emitted without gush or irritation and is also not thick. It is, however, possible that at times the color of the blood may be red or dark, and it may also be warm and thick and may be issued with gush and irritation.

Rules about Ghusl

 

378. It is necessary that the entire body of a person should be Pak before Irtimasi; however, it is not necessary that the entire body of a person should be Pak before Tartibi Ghusl. If the entire body of a person is Najis and before performing the Ghusl of that part, washes it with water, it will be sufficient.

373. In Ghusl e Irtimasi water must reach all parts of the body at one time, thus, if a person submerges in the water with the Niyyat of Ghusl, and his feet are touching the ground, then he should pull his feet up from the ground, while remaining inside the water.

374. In Ghusl of Irtimasi, it is recommended that one should perform Niyyat, when ones body is partially outside water.

367. In this method, a person should first make a Niyyat for Ghusl. Thereafter one should first wash one's head and neck, and thereafter as per precautionary measures one washes the right part of the body first and then the left part. Ghusl for Janabat

 

363. Ghusl for Janabat is Mustahab for attaining Taharat from the state of Janabat, and it is obligatory for offering the daily prayers and other similar acts of worship. However, it is not obligatory for Namaz-e-Mayyit or Sajdatush Shukr' (prostration for thanksgiving) or for the obligatory Sajdah upon reciting the four particular verses of the holy Qur'an. 351. A person enters the state of Janabat in two ways:

Sexual intercourse
Discharge of semen, while sleeping or when awake, little or more, with lust or otherwise, voluntarily or involuntarily.
