Qadha of the forgotten Sajdah and Tashahhud

1260. If a person forgets Sajdah and Tashahhud, and offers its Qadha after prayers, he should fulfil all the conditions of prayers, like his body and dress being Pak, and facing the Qibla, and all various other conditions.

1261. If a person forgets Sajdah or Tashahhud a few times, like, if he forgets one Sajdah in the first Rak’at and another in the second Rak’at, after the prayers, he should perform the Qadha of each one of them and should also perform Sajdah – e – Sahw for each of them. However, it is not necessary to specify which Qadha – e – Sajdah is for which one.

1262. If a person forgets one Sajdah and Tashahhud, as per obligatory precaution, one should perform the Qadha as per order forgetfulness, if one does not know which one he has forgotten first, as per precautionary measures, one should first offer a Sajdah then Tashahhud and then another Sajdah. Or one should first recite

Tashahhud and then Sajdah and then another Tashahhud, so that he becomes certain that he has observed the order and has offered the Qadha as per the order.

1263. If a person thinks that he has forgotten the Sajdah first and observes its Qadha, and after reciting the Tashahhud he remembers that he had actually forgotten the Tashahhud first, then as per obligatory precaution, he should perform the Qadha for Sajdah again; Similarly if he thinks that he has forgotten the Tashahhud and observes its Qadha, and after Sajdah – e – Sahw he remembers that he had actually forgotten the Tashahhud first, then as per obligatory precaution, he should perform the Qadha for Tashahhud again.

1264. If between the Salam of prayers and the Qadha of Sajdah or Tashahhud, a person performs an act which would invalidate the prayers were he to do so purposely or forgetfully, like, turning away from Qibla, as per recommended precaution, after performing the Qadha of Sajdah or Tashahhud, he should repeat his prayers.

1265. If a person remembers just after the Salam of prayers that he has forgotten a Sajdah of the last Rak’at, if a person has not performed an act which invalidates the prayers, like, turning away from Qibla, as per obligatory precaution, he should resume to complete the prayers with the intention of complying with the order Almighty Allah, and should perform the Qadha of Sajdah and recite Tashahhud and Salam and perform two Sajdah – e – Sahw. Similarly, if a person remembers that he has forgotten to recite Tashahhud of the last Rak’at, as per precautionary measures, he should, with the intention of complying with the order of Almighty Allah, recite the Tashahhud and say Salam and perform 2 Sajdah – e – Sahw. And in both situations, as per precautionary measures, one should perform 2 Sajdah – e – Sahw, for additional Salam.

1266. If between the Salam of prayers and the Qadha of Sajdah or Tashahhud, a person performs an act which makes Sajdah – e – Sahw obligatory, like, if he talks forgetfully, he should, as per obligatory precaution, first perform Qadha of Sajdah or Tashahhud and then perform two more Sajdah – e – Sahw apart from the one which became obligatory because of additional Salam.

1267. If a person does not know whether he has forgotten to perform Sajdah, or Tashahhud, it is obligatory for him to perform the Qadha for both, and whichever he performs first, his prayers is in order.

1268. If a person doubts whether or not he has forgotten a Sajdah or Tashahhud, it is not obligatory for him to perform its Qadha.

1269. If a person knows that he has forgotten Sajdah or Tashahhud, but doubts whether or not he has performed it before the Ruku’ of the succeeding Rak’at, as per obligatory precaution, he should perform its Qadha.

1270. If it is obligatory on a person to perform Qadha of Sajdah or Tashahhud, and owing to some other act, Sajdah – e – Sahw also becomes obligatory upon him, he should first perform the Qadha of Sajdah or Tashahhud after prayers, and then perform Sajdah – e – Sahw.

1271. If a person doubts whether or not he has given the Qadha of the forgotten Sajdah after the prayers, and if the time for the prayers has not lapsed, he should give the Qadha. In fact, it is Mustahab, even if the time of Namaz has lapsed, he should give the Qadha.
